                          WIN-SOCKY 3500

 

This sculpture is dedicated, by the artist, to honor

the young who sacrificed their youth to keep this way

of life secure.        Thank You, Merle Hummell

 

“You can cheer me or morn me, but do not question

why, just enjoy the show and walk on by.”

 

The sculpture is made with 3,500 belt buckles,

fabricated from the right dress right with brass. The

term win-socky was used in an old world war one

song.

        

“ That was the WAR to end all WARS.”

                                                                                                 

                      A verse from that song

 “Buckle down win-socky, buckle down, you can win

win-socky if you buckle down”.

                              Another era.       

BREAKERS

Like a wave building on winds of favor,

reaching  for freedom from the grasp beneath.

Raised to a crescendo,

Yet inevitably to die on  the bones of another time.

The momentary artistry forgotten,

over the endless melody that follows.
